Mommy’s belly

The anticipation is building, i can’t wait to meet you, to hold you in my arms. We decided not to find out your gender, to be surprised. It doesn’t matter if you are a girl or boy, our love is unconditional. All we wish and pray for is that you are healthy and well. Your movements now ripple across my belly, i feel and see your every movement. It’s as if you can’t wait to see us too :-). Seeing you at our 4D scan was amazing. I am in awe of the human body and what it is capable of.

My baby

No one ever told me it would be like this, that i would feel so close to you already. My pregnancy has been relatively easy and enjoyable with my feet only swelling in the 36th week. I’ve felt alive and better than ever. I’ve been told pregnancy suits me. All that matters though, Is you, only you. We’ve been for our maternity photo shoot to capture this precious time in our lives, i want to show you these images one day, so you can see how happy we were about your impending arrival.

Mommy can’t wait to meet you baby. I’m a little afraid, but my happiness and anticipation trump the fear.

Letter to my baby 3

Pregnancy has always been such an alien concept to me. I love how natural and gradual it has been. It’s such a beautiful and amazing process process.

My tummy is hard now but it doesn’t feel weird, it’s the natural-est thing. I feel you inside me and i feel even closer to you. My love for you grows stronger everyday.

I hope you get your dad’s calm spirit and my inquiring mind. Don’t ever be anyone’s doormat, don’t stand for that.

This love i have for you as you grow inside me is a different kind of love, one i’ve never felt before. it’s a mother’s love.

Letter to my baby

Daddy loved you and was protective over you before you were born. While i was numb and unsure, he knew, he was sure. Daddy was over the moon when we found out we were pregnant. We bought the first test together and were at home when the pregnancy test came back positive :-). He was also the one that bought the second and third tests, i had to be sure, even though he knew from that first one.

Your daddy was wonderful during the emotion filled pregnancy, he very kind and patient with me, even when i’d throw tantrums. He was always there when i needed him, he was my shoulder to cry on, an ear when i needed to voice my fears and share what i looked forward to. He started protecting you while you were in my belly. I was told what i could eat and what i couldn’t. I was advised to take baths instead of showers as that was safer, according to him.Knowing how quickly I think and do things i was urged to slow down in my actions,and to think slower. He was trying to protect you from me (shrugs).

I am extremely grateful to have a baby with someone so attentive, caring, loving and kind. I pray you get those qualities from him.

You are extremely favoured and blessed to have the daddy God chose for you. May you recognise that and be forever grateful.
